On April 23-4, 1946, Suzuki gave a pair of private lectures before the emperor and empress, entitled "First Lecture: Daichi [Great Wisdom]" and "Second Lecture: Daihi [Great Compassion]." These were published the following year in commemoration of Suzuki's seventy-seventh birthday.
